Annapurna is a section of the Himalayas in the northern part of Nepal which includes Annapurna I, Annapurna II, Annapurna III, Annapurna IV, ten peaks over 7000 m and additional 16 peaks over 6000 m. The whole section comprises 55 km long massif. The highest in the Annapurna Massif is the Annapurna I standing at 8091 m, which is also the tenth highest mountain in the world. The Annapurna I rises east from the Kali Gandaki gorge, the world’s deepest gorge, separating itself from the Dhaulagiri massif which lies 34 km to the west. The local people consider Annapurna massif as ‘goddess of harvest’.

The fourth highest mountain in the world, Lhotse is best known for its proximity to Mount Everest. The climb to Lhotse is an exhilarating one which follows the Everest climbing route up the Lhotse Face till Everest’s Geneva Spur, before the trail steepens to follow an icy long couloir to the summit. Lhotse has three summits, of which the lowest is Lhotse Shar at 8383 m and the highest is Lhotse Main at 8516 m. The third one is Lhotse East, also known as Middle standing at 8413 m. The Lhotse Main was first summited in 1956 whereas the first ascent on Lhotse Middle was only in 2001.

Mt. Dhaulagiri is the seventh highest mountain in the world standing at 8167 m above sea level. Situated in the western part of Nepal, Dhaulagiri is one of the desired 8000 m peaks. It is one of the mountains which is an eight-thousand-meter mountain located entirely in Nepal. The pinnacle of Dhaulagiri stretches for 50 km lending structure to a tangled arrangement of twisting glaciers, ridges and ice cliffs. Several pyramid shaped peaks rise in the main crest of Dhaulagiri and four of these peaks, east to west, rise above 25000 ft. The most common expedition is in the highest of these four peaks which is a climb to Dhaulagiri I.
