Some 150 km from Kathmandu, Kuri is a serene place which is the base camp to the holy place Kalinchowk. Soon after leaving Kathmandu and Bhaktapur, and then a long stretch of Dhulikhel, shortly a winding road to Dolakha starts. You’d have to be wary of the dusty and bumpy roads before reaching Charikot though as it can make your travel complicated. Your trek to Kalinchowk starts from Charikot. The straight uphill from Charikot to Kuri is not an easy one either. Rocky trails filled with mud will make you feel like walking in a muddy field. As you ascend higher, the weather will be much colder and windy. You’d have to take occasional breaks so as to adapt with the daunting trail.

You’ll never feel such a brisk and frosty wind coming against you as you reach Kuri but graced with all the beautiful landscapes and glorious sunset, you will forget about the cold and take a snap of it. Kuri is free from unnecessary crowd, litter and anything the mankind produces at easily accessible places. It is recommended to hike up to Kalinchowk in the morning to witness a magical sunrise from atop but the sunset from the hill is equally stunning.

The pinnacle of this trek is the trident-filled pilgrimage site of Kalinchowk Bhagwati Temple at 3,780 meters. The cool breeze atop the hill will be relaxing and comforting, especially after such a laborious climb. Once you reach the top, you can see the place surrounded by metal tridents which the devotees bestow to the god. You could also see different mountain peaks which seem to be standing just next to you. The brilliance of the landscape from the top will justify your persistence. While the climb will be an arduous task, descending down the peak will be comparatively easier. The splendour of the Langtang range, Mt. Gaurishankar and other peaks will make your descent even more effortless.

On your arrival in Kathmandu, Tribhuwan International Airport, our representative will welcome you & drive you to the hotel. It’s a free day/evening. You can walk around Thamel for shopping.

Kathmandu is the historical and cultural heart of Nepal and has been a popular destination for tourists ever since Nepal opened its doors to visitors. The city presents a wonderful mix of Hinduism, Tibetan Buddhism and Western influence. There will be a guided tour to the largest Buddhist stupa in Nepal Boudhanath and after that to the most popular Hindu shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva- Pashupatinath. We take a tour to Patan or Lalitpur (the City of Artisans), which is 5km away from Kathmandu. We walk through Patan Durbar Square, and delight in the architectural wonders of the Malla era. Mahaboudha Temple, Kumbeshwor Temple, Krishna Temple and Golden Temple are the major attractions at the square.

After a hearty breakfast at Kathmandu, we drive to Charikot, which is about 150km to the northwest of Kathmandu and takes about 4 hours. The ride is going to be a bumpy one so brace yourselves. We stop for lunch at a beautiful place called Mude. Then, we drive a picturesque road to Charikot from Mude passing Kharidhunga. From Charikot, we start our walk and trek to Kuri which takes about 5-6 hours. Overnight in Kuri.

In order to see the amazing sunrise from atop Kalinchowk, we skip breakfast and hike up to the summit of Kalinchowk hill which takes about an hour or so. The sunrise is magical and you also get to enjoy the superb views of the Himalayas. There is a small temple in the top where devotees come to worship the god. Descend down for breakfast and enjoy the day in Kuri. Thera are a lot of viewpoints near Kuri, where you can bask in the sun and have fun. Overnight in Kuri.

After breakfast at Kalinchowk, we retrace our way back down to Charikot for lunch. Then, we will drive back to Kathmandu from Charikot. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Just relax at your hotel room and travel around the beautiful cultural city of Kathmandu, Patan and Bhaktapur. You have the day to your own, so enjoy your last day in Nepal.

It’s time to leave Nepal, of course with smiles and many memories to cherish. Depending on your flight time we will drop you at Tribhuwan International airport for your final departure to your destination.
